| Sunday, February 19 at 6pm Andy May will join an all-star lineup, including Trigger Hippy (among whose members are Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman and Grammy-nominated vocalist Joan Osborne) and hit songwriters Jay Knowles and Clay Mills for University School of Nashville's Music Night, Sunday, February 19. The music starts at 7:00. For starters, this year's "Taste of Music Night" cocktail supper, included in the ticket price, features a smorgasbord of the best chefs and caterers in Nashville--including F. Scott's, Silo, Panache, Jamie Kay, Bang Candy Co., Bongo Java and others--topped off with wine provided by Lipman Brothers. Saturday, October 23, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m, Courtney's, Mount Juliet, TN Bluegrass is famous for its jams, but the basics of jamming are the same across many musical styles. This workshop is for:
who want to try jamming or to improve their jamming skills. Andy will cover a variety of topics, including:
There will be plenty of opportunities for group playing & singing. Bring your instruments, your voice, your questions, and your smile! (Max 30 participants.) This workshop is for intermediate-level musicians (not rank beginners). However, if you're a beginner, don't despair! Future workshops at the beginning level are planned.
Andy has taught jamming and instrument workshops at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Walnut Valley Festival ("Winfield"), MerleFest, Augusta Heritage Center, and in schools in eight states as Artist-in-Residence. IBMA Conference: Panelist for the session"Grant Support for Bluegrass Education"
Andy May will be a panelist/discussion leader for the session: "Grant Support for Bluegrass Education" at the International Bluegrass Music Association's "World of Bluegrass" business conference. Also on the panel are Robert Cogswell (Moderator), Tennessee Arts Commission and Justine Gregory, Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
